Voices for Education works hard to bring the legislative process closer to parents, communities and educators—this means keeping our education communities informed and engaged about policies that will directly affect our schools and students, and working with the legislature to make public education in Arizona a legislative priority.  While the School District is the most visible, working with the state and federal policy makers will have the greatest impact.
 
The Federal No Child Left Behind legislation is over 900 pages of requirements, but the federal government only contributes 6% of Arizona’s education budget.

The Arizona State Legislature grossly under funds public education.  Arizona currently ranks 49th in per-pupil spending and our legislature refuses to make education a priority.

While many parents get engaged at advocating for their children at the district level, real change needs to take place at the state level.
